Expert Lecture Report on “Hibernate with Java”

The expert lecture was successfully organized by the Department of Computer Engineering, Terna Engineering College, Nerul Navi Mumbai for second-year students of the Computer Branch.
The lecture covered Hibernate which is a high-performance Object/Relational persistence and query service, an opensource GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), and is freely downloadable. Hibernate not only takes care of the mapping from Java classes to database tables (and from Java data types to SQL data types) but also provides data query and retrieval facilities. The lecture discussed how to use Hibernate to develop database-based web applications in a simple and easy way.

Department of Computer Engineering successfully organised tutorial on Interactive Parallelization Tool. Faculty members were introduced to OpenMP using different test cases. Every one was captivated by the IPT and parallelization directives. All the participants are provided with the credentials to access the supercomputer.

One day Faculty Development Workshop on “Agile Development Practice“conducted by TCS expert Mr. Ashutosh Sabde on 21st August 2019.He provided an indepth knowledge on Business Agility ,IT Agility, Process Agility,adoption of agile in the market,implementation of new product through Agile process

IEEE approved two weeks short term training program “Digital Image Processing, Wavelets and Machine Learning” conducted by Dr.Manesh B Kokare (phD from IIT Kharagpur) dated from 6th june 2019 to 24th june 2019. He focussed on topics biological neural networking,fundementals of image processing,image compression,wavelets and its applications,texture and feature extraction and deep learning.

One day workshop on Block Chain Technology on 29th March 2019 conducted by Professor Ashok Ranade. He has focused on different aspects of Block chain Technology. He has also show demonstration of Etherium and emphasized on usage of Block chain technology for Bitcoins. Prof. Ashok Ranade is a renowned Industrialist, completed B.Tech from IIT and MBA from IIM. and having a more than 25 years of Industrial Experience.

Department of Computer Engineering has conducted  a AICTE-ISTE approved Two Week Faculty Development Programme on “Probability and Statistics for Scientists and Engineers” between 18th June 2018 to 29th June 2018. In this workshop Dr. Vivek Vijay has explained different techniques used in Research and also emphasized on usage of Probability and Statistics for Scientists and Engineers.

Interactive session with industry people’s:
Computer department has organised a interactive session with industry people’s for final year students on topic “Project development”.
Mr. Dineshkumar Singh from TCS,Mumbai has explained different parameters need to be considered while developing BE Project and also given different  guidelines to BE students for project development.
