Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering, physics, machine design and material science principle to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. It is one of the oldest and prime branch of the Engineering disciplines. Mechanical Engineering involves in the design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems. The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, vibration analysis and electrical engineering. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided design engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, refrigeration & air conditioning, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, automation, medical devices, weapons and others. In the constantly evolving technological scenario, Mechanical Engineering has been the backbone of the manufacturing industries. They  also  offer  their  expertise  in  the  fields  of Aeronautics, Robotics, Automobile, Flexible manufacturing systems, Research & Development, Biomedical, etc.
